Four Cardinals earn 2026 All-CBL honours

Owen Boon, Hector Yan and Carlos Dominguez earn First Team All-CBL honours, while Darlin German is named to the Second Team.

HAMILTON, ON – Four Hamilton Cardinals have been named to the Canadian Baseball League's 2026 All-CBL teams. Right-hander Owen Boon, left-hander Hector Yan and outfielder Carlos Dominguez earned First Team honours, while Darlin German was selected to the Second Team. The recognition follows a season in which Hamilton went 31-17, captured the first regular-season pennant in franchise history and reached the league final for the first time since 2002. Two of the Cardinals' top starters and two of their most productive hitters are represented on the year-end teams. For Boon, the selection adds another chapter to a decorated league career. He made the All-IBL First Team with the London Majors in 2021 and 2023, then earned a third First Team nod in his first season with Hamilton in 2025. That year, he won the league MVP award and the Ted Earley Memorial Trophy for the lowest ERA, and threw the league's first nine-inning no-hitter since 1977. Boon followed it with another strong regular season in 2026. He went 7-1 across 15 starts, posted a 2.86 ERA and struck out 90 batters in 85 innings. His fourth career First Team selection is also his second in as many seasons with the Cardinals. Yan gave Hamilton a second First Team arm. In 15 appearances, including 14 starts, the left-hander went 7-1 with a 2.60 ERA and 112 strikeouts over 72 2/3 innings. His 1.10 WHIP helped anchor a Cardinals staff that finished with the best team ERA in the CBL. Yan also won the 2026 Ted Earley Memorial Trophy, keeping that award in Hamilton for a second straight year. Dominguez supplied the power and speed in the middle of Hamilton's lineup. He played all 48 regular-season games, hit .342 with a .979 OPS, and led the Cardinals with 12 home runs. He added 49 RBI and 17 stolen bases to round out his First Team campaign. German's Second Team selection recognizes a season of steady production. He hit .350 in 47 games, collected 72 hits and 16 doubles, and drove in a team-leading 54 runs. Nine home runs gave him another way to change a game, whether he was setting the table or bringing runners home. Boon, Yan, Dominguez and German helped push the Cardinals to new ground in 2026. Their All-CBL honours put four names to the pitching and offence behind Hamilton's pennant-winning season. Secure your 2027 Season Pass today
