The Hamilton Cardinals defeated the London Majors 3-2 on Sunday at Bernie Arbour Stadium picking up their eighth win in ten games. The Cardinals scored all three of their runs in the seventh inning. German's solo home run broke a scoreless tie, and Jaden Brown followed with a two-run single that brought home Carlos Dominguez and Evan Magill. London responded in the ninth inning with a run, as Jaden Babiuk's single scored Ryder Hancock, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit. Hector Yan made the start for Hamilton, pitching five innings and allowing no runs on six hits while striking out eight. Caleb Seroski picked up the win with three scoreless innings of relief. Steven Hospital recorded the save despite allowing one run in the ninth. Victor Payano took the loss for London, throwing six innings of two-hit ball without allowing an earned run. Luis Perez allowed three runs in two innings of relief. The Cardinals also had a brief reunion with former pitcher Corben Peters, who signed a one day contract with the team and was available to pitch. Peters, the Ottawa native, now resides in the US and coaches youth baseball but spent the weekend visiting the Cardinals. Tucker Zdunich was a standout for the Majors, going 4-for-4 at the plate, while Jarrett Burney added two hits and an RBI. The Cardinals will play the Chatham on Tuesday, while the Majors will face Barrie on Friday.
