Reyes and Duncan Win 2026 CBL Gold Gloves
Reyny Reyes and Tyler Duncan earned 2026 CBL Gold Gloves after strong defensive seasons for the Hamilton Cardinals.
HAMILTON, ON – Reyny Reyes and Tyler Duncan have been named 2026 Canadian Baseball League Gold Glove winners, giving the Hamilton Cardinals two defensive honourees from their pennant-winning season. Reyes brought range and versatility to Hamilton's infield. He appeared in 46 regular-season games and handled 112 total chances, recording 37 putouts and 70 assists. He also took part in six double plays. His 70 assists ranked third on the Cardinals, behind only Brandon Nicoll and Darlin German. That workload reflects the different jobs Reyes took on around the diamond. He was listed at first base, third base, shortstop and left field during the season, but the common thread was his ability to make plays wherever Hamilton needed him. The Gold Glove adds another distinction to a year in which he helped the Cardinals reach the league final for the first time since 2002. Duncan was a constant in centre field. He played all 48 regular-season games, made 94 putouts and committed only one error in 95 chances. His .989 fielding percentage underscored the dependability that kept him in the lineup every game of Hamilton's 31-17 campaign. This is familiar territory for Duncan. He earned an outfield Gold Glove in 2025, when the league was still known as the Intercounty Baseball League. He is now a back-to-back winner, with his second award coming in the CBL's first season. Reyes' 70 assists and six double plays, alongside Duncan's 94 putouts and one-error season, show the different ways the pair helped Hamilton prevent runs. Their Gold Gloves are another recognition of the depth behind the Cardinals' first regular-season pennant. Secure your 2027 Season Pass today
