Hamilton Cardinals Sign Darlin German For 2026 Season

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the signing of first baseman Darlin Germán for the 2026 season. Germán is a right-handed hitter and versatile first baseman who can also move around the field and contribute in multiple positions as a utility player. He has put together a successful career in the Liga Nacional de Béisbol de Verano (LNBV), a Dominican professional summer league. Germán was named MVP of the 2024 LNBV Finals after hitting three home runs in just four games. Most recently, he suited up for Athléticos de Puerto Plata, where he posted a .271/.333/.357 slash line across 19 games during the 2025 season. German has consistently earned selection to the Dominican Republic National Team for the Central American, Caribbean, and Pan Am Games. Most recently, he competed at the 2023 Pan Am Games, batting .455 in a strong group that featured Panama, Mexico, and Cuba. In 2018, he also led the Dominican Republic at the Caribbean Games, hitting .345 across seven games.
