HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the re-signing of outfielder Yolki Pena for the 2026 season. Peña, a native of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, is a former Colorado Rockies prospect. He began his professional career in 2016 after signing a minor league contract with the Rockies organization. From 2017 to 2018, Peña played for the Dominican Summer League Rockies, where he posted a .283/.436/.408 slash line and stole 23 bases across 111 games. He spent the 2019 season in rookie ball with the Grand Junction Rockies, slashing .244/.343/.374 over 36 games. After competing in various independent leagues, Peña joined the Hamilton Cardinals in 2025. He appeared in 38 regular-season games, posting a .271/.369/.406 slash line and led the Cardinals in walks and also finished third on the team in home runs with five.
