Hamilton Cardinals Re-Sign Freisis Adames For 2026 Season

HAMILTON, ON – The Hamilton Cardinals are excited to announce the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Freisis Adames for the 2026 season. Born in Las Matas de Farfan, Dominican Republic, Adames began his professional career in 2015 when he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers organization. He spent five seasons in the Brewers’ minor league system, posting a 4.05 ERA and an 18-13 record across 311.1 innings pitched. Adames reached as high as High-A Wisconsin during the 2021 season. In 2022, Adames suited up for the Winnipeg Goldeyes, an independent team competing in the American Association of Professional Baseball. He made 15 starts for the Goldeyes and finished with an 8-4 record. Adames took his talents to the Frontier league in 2023, pitching out of the bullpen for the Sussex County Miners. In 19 appearances, he struck out 59 batters over 54.2 innings while posting a perfect 3-0 record. He brings experience from the Nicaraguan Winter League, pitching 34.0 innings across nine appearances from 2022-2023 for Tren del Norte. Adames made his CBL debut in 2025 with the Cardinals, where he established himself as one of the league's premier pitchers, recording a 2.47 ERA across 43.2 innings.
