Angel Guerrero went 5-for-6 with two home runs and five RBIs to help the Hamilton Cardinals defeat the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers 24-6 on Tuesday night at Fergie Jenkins Field. The Cardinals opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-run homer from Evan Magill, followed by a solo shot from Carlos Dominguez. They added six runs in the second inning, highlighted by Guerrero's three-run homer and another from Dominguez. Hamilton continued to build its lead with a solo home run from Reyny Reyes in the third, and a three-run blast from Jaden Brown in the fourth. Guerrero hit his second homer in the same inning, contributing to a total of four runs scored. In the fifth inning, Dario Borrero added a three-run homer in his debut game, and Guerrero's single drove in another run, extending the Cardinals' lead to 24 runs. Chatham-Kent managed to score four runs in the fifth inning, including a home run by Austin Gurney, and added two more in the fourth and sixth innings, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Hamilton's offense. Owen Boon earned the win for Hamilton, pitching five innings and allowing five runs (one earned) on three hits, while striking out five. Yuri Yokoyama took the loss for Chatham-Kent, allowing nine runs on ten hits in two innings. The Cardinals will host the Kitchener Panthers on Friday, while the Barnstormers will face the Guelph Royals at home the same day.
